Up to August 31st, Central Embassy will be transformed into “A Glazing Gallery” by contemporary Korean artist Jae Yong-kim, complete with thousands of doughnut decorations.
This is the first time the upscale retail center and the 51-year-old artist have worked together. The artist gives a fresh take on food art by fusing inventiveness with mystical culinary creations.
Jae Yong-kim is well-known for his enthralling ceramic sculptures of doughnuts, which are frequently painted in vibrant colors and adorned with glitter and Swarovski crystals. On Level 2, he has decorated the walls and ceiling of the Central Embassy and Central Chidlom linkage tunnel with three-dimensional doughnut sculptures that are intended to entice us with the thought of a special meal.
The breathtaking tunnel, dubbed “Sweet Bangkok Donuts,” is a lively attraction that anybody may visit, snap pictures of, and check in till the end of August.
Meanwhile, until July 31, the “Jae Yong Kim Exhibition” at The Balcony on Level 2 will include 120 expertly made ceramic doughnuts from the artist’s “Donut Fear” series. Visitors are welcome to explore the tale behind the artist’s doughnut creation.
