Apr. 30, Havana (Prensa Latina) On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez alleged that despite the attack on the Cuban Embassy in Washington occurring four years ago, the US government has yet to label it a terrorist crime. The chief of Cuban diplomacy noted on his X page that no one has been jailed for the activities during this time, and he issued a warning that criminality is encouraged by impunity.
Ten officials within the diplomatic headquarters were put in jeopardy when Alexander Allazo, a citizen of Cuban descent, opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle in the early hours of April 30, 2020.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident, and the structure only sustained minor damage. Nevertheless, the White House chose to remain silent rather than deny the incident, which Cuba deemed to be significant.
Bruno Rodriguez said at the time that the US administration was complicit in the catastrophe because of its attitude.
The second terrorist incident occurred on September 24, 2023, when someone hurled two Molotov cocktails from the pavement at the facility’s perimeter fence, striking the building’s façade. The target of the attack was the Cuban Embassy in Washington.
