Protest in front of Russian embassy in Berlin at Navalny’s death

Several hundred protesters gathered on Sunday in Berlin’s vicinity of the Russian embassy to voice their outrage over the demise of imprisoned dissident Alexei Navalny, according to German police.

Individuals held signs that read, “Stopp Putin” and “Putin is a killer,” which are references to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A protest with 450 participants was registered by the organizers.

The Pussy Riot protest group announced their own demonstration shortly before the scheduled early afternoon protest. Numerous individuals wearing pink hoods and banners had arrived at the embassy and quickly left, according to a police spokesman.

According to German police, several hundred demonstrators gathered on Sunday near the Russian embassy in Berlin to express their outrage over the death of dissident dissident Alexei Navalny, who was imprisoned.

“Stopp Putin” and “Putin is a killer,” two slogans carried by demonstrators, are aimed at Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The organizers registered 450 people for the protest.

Shortly before the planned early-afternoon protest, the Pussy Riot protest group announced their own demonstration. A police spokesman said that many people wearing pink hoods and banners had arrived at the embassy and quickly left.

Since it was revealed on Friday, protests have been held all over the world to commemorate the 47-year-old activist’s passing in a Siberian prison colony.

Human rights advocates and Navalny’s team have called Navalny’s death a murder and held the Kremlin accountable. The Russian authorities claim that Navalny passed out during a workout in subfreezing temperatures. Recovery attempts were unsuccessful.
