Armenian Embassy in Russia hosts Army Day reception

The 32nd anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces’ founding was celebrated with an official reception held at the embassy in Moscow by Armenia’s ambassador to Russia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan.

Attendees included members of the Armenian community, clergy from the Armenian church, foreign diplomats, and representatives from the Russian ministries of defense and foreign affairs.

“A strong and combat-ready army is one of the most important factors guaranteeing the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of the Republic of Armenia,” Ambassador Harutyunyan stated in his remarks. Given the current state of the region, he thought it important that the military undergo ongoing reforms. The ambassador discussed Armenian-Russian defense cooperation as well as Russia’s contribution to the establishment of the Armenian Armed Forces.
